The streets were cold and grey ,just the way she felt inside. She tried her best to be closed off from people. To Rely on herself and only Herself. She didn't trust people to much but did it matter now as the world seemed to be changing now.
She sighed softly and walked further down the street.Maybe she would see a real vampire? maybe she would be turned or maybe this time someone would save her from herself and the world. She hummed softly to some random song she heard during the night and looked around for some sign of activity

Cities always had a strange feeling about them, something that made people use names like 'concrete jungle'. Sometimes Becky agreed with that and now was one of those moments. She could remember how it was when everything was full of life and the crowds would annoy her, but now she kind of missed them.
Becky had been shopping for supplies and the little bottles, boxes and weeds were stored in a small plastic bag that she was gently swinging as she walked. The girl was as normal as a witch could come to normality, and at a first glance there was no way to tell she was any different.
She saw a young woman ahead of her but didn't pay much attention until she reached her. From what Becky could tell, the girl was younger than her; also, she thought she recognised the song the young woman was humming.. Not wanting to startle her but deciding to say 'hello', Becky cleared her voice before talking. "Hi, excuse me, but what song is that?"

Hearing a voice ,Avery looked at her and smiled a bit more and looked at her."Hi....umm ah its harvest moon by blue oyster cult ..you know it?"she asked with a smile and studied the girl a bit.
She was pretty and petite and had nice blond hair."umm ..I'm Avery by the way? whats your name?"she asked with a smile and looked at her and smiled a bit more friendly. The city was a bit glum and dark and wasn't exactly giving a nice fuzzy feeling.

Becky nodded and chuckled softly to herself. "Oh, cool. I thought it sounded familiar... Yup, I know it, it's a nice song." She was glad to see a new face around, and even more to meet someone she could have a chat with. It was a nice change.
"It's Rebecca but everyone calls me 'Becky'" came her cheerful answer. "Very nice to meet you, Avery." She hesitated for a second, wondering if Avery would mind her tendency to ask questions and just be talkative. Some people did. "Umm. You know, the streets are kinda dangerous, especially lately. Everything alright?" She let her voice fade a little at the end.

"yeah ..I'm hooked on it ..Its nice to meet you Becky .."She said with a smile and looked over at the girl again. It was kinda nice to meet someone and just have a conversation."mhm yeah i know ..but i guess i just don't care that much if its dangerous..life is life ..and we all die sometime " she said with a smile and looked at the girl again
She sighed softly and looked at her and looked at the scenery and sighed softly. The world seemed to be coming to an end and seemed like god didn't care if he existed.Sometimes it seemed like he didn't."so how come you are out at night ? don't you have a someone thats worried about you?"she asked softly and bit her lower-lip

Becky smiled at the first part but it faded away at the end. As much as she liked to pretend otherwise, the world wasn't what it had been once. She could almost guess a loss behind the other's words. "True. Some earlier than others, right?" Becky hoped the girl wouldn't mind if she said that. "But it's our duty to make it later rather than sooner."
"Um I have a little ace up my sleeve, I suppose..." Becky answered, giving the girl a sheepish smile. "For one, I'm good at self-defense. And then..." She moved her bags into one hand and lifted her right hand, palm up, making little sparks dance above it. "Witch." Becky shrugged at the next question. "Um yeah... I have my best friend and his sister. That's it I guess. I lost my parents when -" She paused and carefully waited until a soft smile was back on her lips. "When it all happened."

Avery sighed softly and looked at the girl and she spoke and it was words that came from someone who seemed to cherish life.Avery never cared much if she kept alive or faded away in death."mhm ..true but then again why should fight dying if its your destiny.. to be honest I'm fascinated by these creatures and what they can do "
"ah your best-friend and his sister.. ah well thats nice that you have them and I'm sorry for your loss."she said softly and looked at the girl and sighed a bit."mhm..you wanna go somewhere else then?"she suggested with a soft tone of voice and a soft smile

"For the principle of it." Becky grinned softly. "Don't tell me it doesn't make sense. Assuming you're right, why should we just accept it anyway?" She tilted her head a little and pondered Avery's words, unable to deny that she felt the same to a certain point. A witch couldn't get too far if she didn't have an interest in all things powerful, and the undead of any kind were just that. "Can't blame you. Not many things to fear once you've died, right? Well, except loosing yourself and what makes you human."
Becky shook her head but kept her expression friendly. "Don't be, we've all lost someone we care about. I'm lucky. It took me a great while to understand it, but I am." The woman's smile got brighter at the suggestion and she nodded. "Great idea, Avery. Any place in mind? Cause we could always go to a cafe if you know one that's still standing. The owner at Bazaar gives me the creeps."

"but still why not just go out with knowing ,you've lived your life to the fullest with no concerns or regrets at all.after all .if we are gonna die why not enjoy life as much as you can .. thats a part why i am wandering around here..i never want to live my life with regrets ,have too many already "she said softly with a sigh and looked at her again.
Avery kept quiet as she spoke, conversation was nice but not her strong suit. She was awful with meeting people, she always figured if they were interested enough they'd keep the conversation going. She always felt like she made people uncomfortable or insulted so why not keep quiet

Becky nodded, pondering Avery's words quietly. "Well that's what I meant, to be honest. Probably didn't put it quite right, but I agree completely." She gave a small, sad smile. Becky was the type who always tried to make others feel better but didn't know if her new friend would want her help or not. "Who doesn't? I guess I do see your point." Truth was, she needed a bit more courage.
Rebecca stopped again. She could tell there was something a little wrong, but then again Avery probably had her reasons to be shy or sad. "Anyway, I bet you're an interesting person if you think like that. What stuff do you like, in general?"

"mhm ..what i like .. mhm .. i like music and movies and TV shows...I like to read sometimes too ..Mostly fiction tough"she said with a sigh and looked at him and looked around a bit more and then back at Becky
"mhm ..so what do you like ? do tell "she said with a smile.Avery fiddled a bit with her hair and looked into her eyes and then at her own feet and sighed softly."ah .. should we go then ?"

"Hmm... I love music, almost any kind. And fiction is my favorite genre, mostly because you can, well, escape in that sort of book. I like the ones that have an entire universe plotted out, with every detail fitting into its own place." She smiled brightly and thought for a bit, trying to make a mental list of her possible answers. "I used to like dancing... and animals. They're so much better than most humans. And they've been around longer."
Becky looked at Avery like she just woke up after a nap, probably a very comical expression, realising that they were standing still. She laughed and nodded cheerfully. "Yeah, you're right... sorry." She started leading the way to the only cafe she knew was still in one piece. It looked fairly decent and was close enough for them to see its windows.

"I like music too ..and i love fiction too and yeah ..you can escape into them ..thats what i like too ..Music helps me express my feelings that i don't show to most people" she said softly and smiled and looked at Becky."mhm.. True animals don't lie and betray you ..they don't hurt your feelings for selfish reasons, but show love and kindness and honesty.their just what they are meant to be"
"ah ..so not a lot of cafès open anymore.. cant blame it. tough with all thats going on now..ah .. so to be all teen girl to ease the mood a bit ..you got a boyfriend or a crush?" she asked with a smile

The girl nodded and listened as Avery put her own thoughts into words, putting the handles of the bag around her wrist so she could slip her hands into the pockets of her jacket. "Yeah, music does that. I always thought it's a true gift to be able to sing - I mean really sing, make a difference." Becky smiled back and nodded again. "That's the most important thing in my book. Things being as they were meant to be. Not all animals are kind - some are predators and will kill with cold blood. But that's how life is, the wolves never pretend to be lambs."
Becky laughed softly, glad to follow the lighter subject. She let out a soft 'hmmm' and looked ahead, pondering. "I had a crush before, but now, no one's caught my eye, I suppose. I do miss crushing and just being a teen. Being an adult isn't as much fun as we were made to believe." Her gaze turned back to Avery. "How 'bout you? Surely a great girl like you has met someone."

Avery agreed on her point of view to the fullest how many times had she not wished she could sing that she could matter to someone like the singers in the bands that mattered to her."i agree.. people think that music is just a entertainment a\,that it shouldn't matter so much but without it.i`d fade away.." Avery smiled as she brought up wolves.
They had wolves in Norway and Sweden where she was born and raised part of her life."yeah .. even as predators their more honest than humans ..We cause to much to each other and take some enjoyment out of it .." she said with a heavy sigh and looked up at the sky, part of her wondered if there was a god out there ,she doubted sometime ..Ah well she doubted that most of the time as she couldn't understand why he created us and then just abandoned us like that
When Becky complimented her ,her cheek grew pink and she chewed her lower-lip a bit nervously and scratched the back of her head too."aah .. thanks .. no i haven't met a guy ..i used to have a crush on a guy in Norway but he was taken so i never took a chance and told him.. Ah no being a grown up isn't that much as i hoped as a child.. actually i tend to wish to be a kid again "she said with a smile and a soft laugh
