It was late in the afternoon and Taylor had slipped out of her and Logan's apartment in a reflective mood. She was headed to the part of the city where she used to work. The cafe she worked at was no part of some ruins. The shops around it empty apart from a few things, but most of it had been looted and burned. She couldn't believe what had been happening, but had accepted it, and just hoped she would survive.
Taylor wandered along the street kicking a piece of wood in front of her that used to be a sign from a shop that had obviously been torn off. Then she stopped suddenly hearing a noise from one of the empty broken stores and she froze listening out for it again. She heard it...it sounded like a little cry or something but she wasn't sure...and whether she was sure of what it was or not her curiosity got the better of her and she trod over the bits on the floor to look round the corner.
She exhaled, not realising she had held her breath, and she was amazed at the sight. It was a cat with 3 kittens who looked starving. The cat didn't look too great either, she could see its bones sticking out. "Oh poor kitty's!" Taylor exclaimed on seeing them. She couldn't help but feel sorry for them and couldn't just leave them there...it wouldn't be right, 'cos then she'd feel guilty. She saw a box nearby that looked like would fit them in, and slowly made her way over to the cats. "It's okay..." She said softly, wishing she'd had some food on her, but the cat seemed to come to her willingly and seemed tame enough so Taylor carefully picked her up and put her in the box, and then did the same with the 3 kittens who were making little noises. "I'll get you some food lil ones." She said softly.
She didn't know what Logan would say about them, but she wasn't about to let the cats starve so he was going to have to put up with them she thought. She thought he might like the female, an all black cat with a white nose which was cute, and two of the kittens were black and the other a dark tabby. She would have taken her army green jacket off to put round them or something except it was a little cold outside so she didn't want to. She pulled her scarf a little tighter round her neck and then made her way slowly out of the store, hoping she'd left enough time to get home before it got dark...

Elliott stood in the doorway as she turned back, he’d been watching Taylor the whole time that she had been in this street and although she didn’t look threatening, and the way that she treated the cat seemed beyond nice, he wasn’t going to take any chances. He took a step in, blocking the only exit, and without realising it acting in fairly intimidating way. He looked at the box, the meows a noise he was expecting.
The cats however weren’t there by any accident, they were bait. Elliott had placed them there to lure in demons which in brief moments of excessive hunger would turn on animals such as kittens. He hated keeping them in a poor condition, but that was the only way that they would whine, and he wouldn’t ever let them intentionally die.
“You can take them if you want ... I’m getting to the point where I can’t justify it morally” He smiled, breaking some of the tension. His voice was harsh and coarse and even though he was well dressed, in designer labels and well fit clothes, he hadn’t washed in a couple of days now and some of his visible wounds, like the ones on his arm were starting to look infected. All in all he wasn’t the same looking Elliott that had landed in America a few months ago, even though he was mentally a little more stable.

Taylor had been so focused on the cats she hadn't realised anyone had been standing watching her, until she turned around and saw the last of the light of the afternoon being blocked by someone in the doorway. It took her a little by surprise as she looked up at the guy, and ended up taking a step back as she held the box. She was unsure about the guy, after all...looks can be decieving, she certainly knew that. "You put them here?" She questioned him with a frown.
She stood still keeping an eye on the guy, but didn't want to move just yet. "Why would you put, half starving, near to death cats in an abandoned shop, its just crazy. I will be taking them definitly!" She told him with certainty in her voice. She didn't care if Logan didn't want the cats, she was going to have them, whether this guy would let her or not. Although he had already given her his permission.
She moved closer to him now, being just a couple of steps away. He was a little scary looking, well he looked pretty rough, were Taylor's thoughts. Perhaps someone you wouldn't mess with, although somewhere underneath the dirt, she figured he might be somewhat good looking, but that was just a brief thought, before she got back to the moment at hand. "Are you going to let me past then? Or just stand there until it gets dark and dangerous?" She asked, raising a brow as if she was impatient.

Elliott’s face turned sour with her evident displeasure and annoyance at him, but he had kept them there for a reason and without moving he stood his ground and placed out his hand to stop her from leaving. “Wait ... what you think I just left them here for no reason? If you must know, they attract certain demons and then if I’m around I can hear the commotion and jump in to kill them.” He looked at the kittens in the box and then leaned out to look at them one last time; He felt a small attachment to them as they’d kept him company over the past few weeks but they were only cats and he’d learnt not to attach himself to things anymore, nothing was ever reliable enough to love it nowadays.
“And don’t call me crazy alright!” Elliott’s hand shook a bit and he looked hurt by her statement, “You’re the crazy one if anyone, walking right into trap I set up. Just imagine in my few years I’ve only learnt a few tricks but some monsters have years on us, think about the traps they can set up.” His distant and slightly mournful stare was quite distinct as he took a step back to let her go, “Sorry.” His mental condition still questionable he didn’t want to put himself in a potentially dangerous situation.

Matthew was wandering around, not caring if anyting would hop out and scream "boo" at him, because that is all they could do. HE wouldnt die, he would fight them, and win. It was his nature. But he didnt want to kill anyone. He heard crying, and somthing stirred in him. He walked to the side of an abandoned store, and saw a mother with a littler of three. It wasnt a person, but it was still a being, suffereing. He was about to walk in a grab them when Taylor walked in and did the same. He smiled, His good friend Taylor, saving Kittens. He shhok his head, leaving to the front of the store. Then he heard her talking to someone. A male, bythe smell of him, Matthew could tell he wasnt right in teh head. After a few tense moments, he let her pass. Matthew exhaled. Taylor didnt know about him, and he wanted to keep it that way for now.
"So, saving kittens?" He said raising an eyebrow perfectly at her, and noticed the box was un covered, it was freezing out.
He she dhis jaket, a warm wool coat, and put it on teh mother and her kittens.

Taylor stopped when the guy held his hand in front of her to stop her going anywhere, as he explained himself to her, although didn't seem impressed that she didn't like it. "Yeah well, you're not going to attract demons anymore with them, it really is ridiculous you know using live animals, I couldn't imagine doing that." Taylor said more to herself than to him anyway. She was about to move when he started berating her for calling him crazy! And then called her crazy! What the Hell?! she thought to herself with a frown, as he was slowly annoying her. "Yeah well I have some intuition you know, demons wouldn't use animals as live bait! They'd sooner eat them then keep them alive." She told him with a frown, although what he said did make her think. What if it had been a trap? Logan had been talling her more and more to be careful, mainly because she was a little less cautious than most other people. But it was when he apologised Taylor looked at him with a softer expression, he was strange, but hey he seemed human enough. "It's okay, we all do things we regret." She shrugged. "Although I'd becareful when it gets dark." She warned him, before stepping round him, carefully keeping an eye on him, and moving into the street.
She turned to walk back to her apartment when she jumped slightly when she heard another voice. "God, Matt! Don't do that to me, I'm too jumpy at the moment." She smiled at him, glad it hadn't been anyone else. She took a breath and recovered enough to answer his question. "Yeah well, that guy in the shop, he was using them as bait to catch demons, so I'm taking them home...They're so hungry its not fair on them." Taylor explained, glancing at the cats again before back at Matthew. "But won't you be cold?" She asked him, knowing how cold it had gotten in the afternoon. "And enough about that, what are you doing around here? Not following me I hope!" She teased with a grin.

He smiled at her, trying to keep the sadness out of it.
"Nah, Im fine, I will live a few minutes of cold weather, but these wont," He stroke the mother fondly and then finished wrapping it around her.
"And enough about that, what are you doing around here? Not following me I hope!"
He laughed at her teasing tone.
"No, just walking around, thinking about evrything and nothing, what were you doing out this late, wont Logan have a fit if your out alone?" He said, feeling like he was being a bad person, she trusted him, and he didnt know if she should.
"Anyways, when you do get done walking around, saving kittens and all, I'll walk you home," He smiled at her, making it look friendly, and not scary.

Elliott ran out of the shop as he heard their conversation and ended it abruptly. He had some major suspicions about this man and he could sense that he was not alive and even if this girl had upset ad annoyed him he wasn’t going to just let her get hurt. “Hey You! You will not walk her home; you won’t even come near her again!” he ordered, stepping over a piece of rubble as he approached the couple and stood protectively in front of the girl.
“Get out of here or I’ll dust your sorry ass.” With this he pulled out a small bottle from his pocket that was marked holy water and a wooden stake that he got out of his other pocket. He had visited a clergy man and acquire many items as of late and also learnt how to bless them himself; ever since his last encounter with a vampire he was becoming increasingly cautious.
He held the bottle in a threatening manner out at arms length ready to throw it if needed be. He turned back to the girl “run” With this and the lack of movement, he threw the bottle hard at the vampires face, hoping desperately for the bottle to smash.

Matthew watched the boy run ou tof where he was. so this was who she was yalking to, He thought.
“Hey You! You will not walk her home; you won’t even come near her again!” The kid said. Matthew's face grew panicked, he was about to out him in front of Taylor. Ah s.hit.
“Get out of here or I’ll dust your sorry ass.” He said, then drew out a bottle of holy water and a crusifix. Matthew only stared at ti, then back up to the boy. "You've got to be kidding me," He said.
Then the kid threw it at him. It hit his face and it bouced off and cracked on teh floor. He shook his head, hiding how lucky he was as to not have that thing break on his face.
"Sorry to burst you bubble kid," He said kciking the broken bottle out of the street. "What was that anyways, holy water?"

Taylor smiled at Matt thankfully as he put his jacket round the cats, liking the fact that he cared about the cats as well.
"What were you doing out this late, wont Logan have a fit if your out alone?"
Taylor gave Matt a small smile and a shrug. "Well I kinda snuck out, I just couldn't sit around inside the apartment anymore. I had to get out, and well I hadn't noticed how late it was getting." She explained to him, glancing ahead to where she was going to head before back at her best friend. She looked back to him when he suggested walking her home. "Well only if you want to, I don't want to put you out, you'll need to get home as well." Taylor said, perhaps a little concerned about him. She hated putting people out, especially in dangerous situations.
She had a shocked expression painted on her face suddenly when this crazy guy came running out the shop where they had just been saying that Matthew wasn't going to walk her home. "What the Hell?! What do you think you're doing?!" Taylor exclaimed, trying to move round the guy to get to Matt with the box in her hand. She refused to listen to the guy when he told her to run and frowned when he said he was going to dust Matt. He really was whacked in the head! Taylor pushed the guy in front of her with one hand seeing as the other one had the box in. "Are you stupid or something?! He's my friend, not a evil creature." She half shouted at him, glancing at Matt to make sure he was alright. Perhaps he was right, and she shouldn't have come out at all this afternoon.

Elliott ignored the vampire, to preoccupied with shuddering and glaring at the girl he’d been trying to save, he stepped back, tripping as he did so, cutting his hands on the unwelcoming floor. He shuffled back, stood and closed his eyes wincing as if in pain. The stress of the situation and his inability to handle it in his current state of mind was causing his mind to overload, not a good thing either when you have the magical ability he now had.
“I warned you!” he cried out, and then with his next words his eyes reopened and shone a supernatural blue. “I warned you!” He held out his hand towards the vampire and a small ball of energy was fired at him, electrical in its appearance. It would hurt a lot and Elliott felt he could get a healthy head start in the running because of it.
He quickly glanced at the girl and left her with a comment before running into the distance hard,
“He’ll get you”

Anya was right in time. She didnt know what was happenig between these people, but she knew a nutter when she saw one. She stepped right into the energy ball he had fired, and absorbed it. she stared after the guy, he looked somehow familiar. She quickly made her escape, running off the same way he went. She was reeling from teh shock she had just taken. his power was immense. she smiled as the tremors stopped. and she made her way on, like she did every night, patorlling for people in trouble.

Matthew just stared in shock.
"What the hell?" HE said, after he saw a girl with purple eyes just absorb the ball of energy that the kid had sent at him. "That guy is insane," He said, looking over at Taylor.
"Do you know that guy?" He asked, lifting an eyebrow.

Everything happened so quickly Taylor just didn't know what to make of it. She was half in shock, and half worried about Matthew. Now she had to worry about more than just demons, she thought after the guy ran off. Now she had to worry about crazy guys who shot electrical balls at her friends!
She stared after the guy when he ran off but then moved to Matthew to make sure he was okay, though she was pretty sure she was acting more worried than him. "Are you okay Matthew?!" Taylor asked him, shaking her head at his question. "No, never met him before tonight, he is definitly crazy though." She said to him, shifting the box in her arms. She almost forgot she was holding a box with cats in for a moment there.
"I definitly don't wish to run into him again, come on we should get walking before he decides to come back and shoot you with something else...I mean why would he just attack you? He didn't want me anywhere near you." Taylor babbled on. Okay, maybe its because that guy had made her a little nervous, and so she just babbled on about what had happened, thinking once it was out her system she would feel a little better, though she did think it seemed strange.

Matthew silently cursed himself.
Why in the hell did I come back, and see her? I dont want to hurt her, but one day it could happen, I just hope that someone will be able to stop me before..... He was thinking as she babbled.
"Its okay Taylor, he didnt get me, that girl, probably a witch, got it, why in teh hell did she just jump in there like that?" He asked, shaking his head.
"Maybe we should get you back," He said, and started to walk, waiting for her to follow.
"If my nights just starting, then he's the least of my problems," He muttered to himself. Then more allowed said;
"So, Logan still keeping a tight leash on you?"
