Kia Dion
[/right]
Name: Kia Dion
Age:19
Species: Werewolf
Celeb: –- N/A --
Personality:
Kia used to be the life of the party. When she was 17. Sure things haven’t really been great for a long time. But she was probably a crazy optimist. The kind that believes everyone is redeemable, that there is always a silver lining – you just have to look. That all changed, when on the night of a full moon, it all changed.
Generally now she leans towards a more pessimistic side of things. Believing that everything is gone, the world is just ghosting and soon it will be gone. Humanity is useless and pathetic. She is commonly sardonic, very sarcastic. She has little care and no empathy for others, generally believing they are undeserving of it and have no idea what pain and suffering is. In the days before the full moon and after, she is Angry a lot of the time. The smallest thing is enough to send her into a flying fit of blind rage. Rarely is there sense or direction behind it apart from stopping what ever made her angry.
There are of course good days, when she remembers having hope. These good days usually leave her depressed and feeling vulnerable. In a sense they are more counter-productive than the anger days as she is left in a fit of tears or a near catatonic state. She almost displays signs of a personality disorder. But it’s just stress.
Occupation: Thief
History:
Life was good. She grew up in a big family, with caring parents and a somewhat close knit community in England. Anytime something bad happened – somehow she would find a good spin on it. Everything had a purpose, there was a God and there were Angels watching over every one. Pain and suffering would always end one day – and paradise was always forthcoming.
The glass half full attitude rarely lasts long however. And for Kia… It ended not long before her 18th Birthday. She was walking home, the bus had been late, rain pouring down and clouds covered the silver light of the moon. A generally foul night. Of course if you didn’t love the feel of rain like Kia. She was practically skipping. It’s just – Skipping can be construed for running, when you run from a wolf – it MUST chase you. It is their most base instinct. When the great shaggy beast broke its location she DID run. Kia wasn’t a good runner – she was a great runner. She practiced daily, but you don’t outrun a 200 odd pound hunk of wolf chasing you down like pray, Kia was no exception.
She awoke the next day in the hospital. It was a miracle she had survived. An Impossible but wonderful miracle to her family. Doctors were baffled. She’d lost enough blood to be near exsanguinated, she was savagely torn and beaten. Yet she was release 3 days later. In a week – she was healed.
It’s a general part of the human condition – you don’t kick a miracle in the face when it saves your daughter… your sister… your friend. You nod, agree and get on with life thanking you’re lucky stars it turned out this way. Except Kia – she KNEW something was wrong. There was something else in her mind. Humans base instincts only whisper their opinions every once in a while – hers were now screaming at her. She could feel people breathing in the next room, could spell them. The weak smelt like food, the strong flashed as danger. The kind to avoid. These sensed were so strong and out of control they near drove her mad. Until the night she truly went mad. The change came – she killed 5. And watched it all happen as if watching a movie.
She hid it – for a few years. People could ignore the fact how she just looked strong, moved faster and quieter. The fact she didn’t really seem to age at the speed a normal person did. She couldn’t ignore the killings. She’d hike to a wood every time the full moon came around to avoid killing any humans – one day she just never came back.
Kia never checked back in on her family – she travelled and grew hatred for humans with every passing full moon. New definition of pain each time she changed. It never got easier. However her pack instinct keeps trying to force her to crowds, her predator instinct forces her to the weak and helpless. Kia, unlike many others, embraces her instincts and strengthens them with each use, she maybe given a bit of herself away each time – but it has a little advantage. She gets stronger, more agile. Maybe less human...
